Daniel J. Henry, age 65, of Evansport, passed away Sunday morning, October 15, 2017, in his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Henry was employed by First Energy as a Senior Lineman.

Mr. Henry was born on January 26, 1952 in Napoleon, Ohio the son of the late Myrl and the late Betty Jane (Rice) Henry. On February 18, 1999 he married his wife Mary and she survives. He was a 1970 graduate of Tinora High School. Mr. Henry was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge # 372 and a member of the Defiance Area Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on East Long Lake in Coldwater , MI., spending time at Daytona Beach, Florida, making cider from his apple orchard with his friends and running his beagle, Molly, at his farm.

Surviving besides his wife, Mary are children; Phillip (Tiffani) Henry of Carmel, IN, Heather Henry of Ft. Wayne, IN, step-sons; Tracy Holman of Ann Arbor, MI, Ben (Tracie) Holman of Defiance and two grandchildren; Nolan Joseph and Emmett Joseph Henry. Also surviving are three brothers; Mike (Susan) Henry of Archbold, Tom (Joetta) Henry of Defiance and Ted (Deb) Henry of Fremont, IN and sister; Ann (Ivon) Turmel of Herman, Maine. Preceding him in death besides his parents were grandparnets; Lloyd nad Ida Henry and Albert and Mary Rice.

Friends may call for a time to celebrate Daniel's life and a time of visitation with the family from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Tiffin Township Fire Department, in Evansport, Ohio. Pastor Erich Christman will officiate. Private interment will be in the Evansport Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, statuary, blankets, and other items,  the family requests memorial contributions be made to Maumee Valley Archaeological Society or the National Rifle Association. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
