I am sorry to hear of Jim passing. I can remember talking to Jim about Fire dept (I have been involved with my fire dept 52 years-26 as Chief) stuff at the conferences. I always considered you and Jim as friends and always enjoyed the Clerks Conferences when you and Jim attended.

Please accept our condolences on the passing of your husband, father and grandfather. We just learned about it. Jim will be missed very much as he made it a point to visit those he knew were at Fulton Manor or living in the Suites. He came often to see my mom and dad (Virginia & Dee Sharpe) and I know they had some really lively discussions! You have wonderful memories to keep in your hearts to remember him by and for that you are lucky. We are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Mary, I was saddened to learn of Jim's passing , I had found out about it online as I am in St. Paul MN. right now. I am sorry that I was not able to visit with you . The Cooley families extend our condolences to Mary Gype and the Gype and Rupp families. What a special dad/grandpa, and husband was Jim Gype. Both Jim and Mary worked tirelessly for their family, church, school and the Wauseon community. Both were trusted friends for so many young families. As a young teacher in the Wauseon School System, our faculty played basketball against several Toledo teams, all in one evening. James Gype took me to the ER twice in one evening for eye injuries. Needless to say, I had gained a friend for life. What a very special man! God Bless the Gype family. May God's love surround you during this difficult time. Love, Curt and Nancy Cooley

You have our sympathies for the loss of you husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jim came to see my Dad, Ken Ledyard, in May 2003, during his at home hospice. It meant a lot to Ken and they reminiced about Western Auto days and Wauseon Development activities. I know they were associated in childhood through many years, although Dad was 2 years older. My Mother, Evelyn, passed in 2012 in Colorado. My brother Bruce passed in 2006 in SC. Hugs and prayers. Jim was a great guy.

What great memories we have of Jim on the many, many tours he and Mary took with us......He also helped me in many ways, anytime I need anything fixed or done.
What a honor it was knowing him and we reminisced a lot on our last tour,

I was sorry to hear of your loss this past week. Jim was a very kind person, with a wonderful sense of humor. Of course, I will always cherish memories of spending time next to The Gype Cabin on Lake Duborne in Canada. Too many to write down! However, Jim and Mary's amazing abilities on water skis come to mind, along with fishing, swimming and hiking with Jeff and Jana.
So pleasant to think about...Peace be with you Jim.
