Tommie "Ron" Wheeler

Tommie “Ron” Wheeler, age 76, of rural Wauseon, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Prior to his retirement he had worked construction and had been a horse trainer.

Ron was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on August 13, 1940, the son of Lloyd and Mildred (Terry) Wheeler. On February 16, 1963 he married Margaret “Maggie” Durjan, and she survives. He enjoyed watching westerns, his garden, fishing, telling stories, and tinkering in his shop.

Surviving is his wife, Maggie; daughter, Chris (Marc) Gase of Sunbury, Ohio; son, Wade (Annette) Wheeler of Wauseon; three grandsons, Lucas Wheeler, Shawn Wanner and Aaron Gase; and brother, Bud (Gert) Wheeler of Fayette. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Max, Larry and Bob Wheeler.

Visitation for Ron will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Ottokee Cemetery, with Gene Sugg, officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice or Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
