James R. Powers

James R. Powers, 77, of North Olmsted, Ohio died Monday, May 29, 2017 at St, John’s Hospital, Westlake, Ohio. He was born August 21,1939 in Monclova, Ohio to the late John P. and Floy (Double) Powers. He married Betty Jean Barnes on June 30,1962. James was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High and was a Quality Control manager, employed by Glidden Paints, Huron, Ohio before he retired. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron, Ohio.

Survivors include son, John F. (Kathleen) Powers, North Olmsted, Ohio, daughter, Sherry Moser, Huron, Ohio. Grandchildren, Kaley, Kimberly, Dena, Lauren, Amanda.Great Grandson, Aiden Frost. Brother Rex Powers, Toledo, Ohio, Numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, sisters, Frances, Ruth, Fay, Pat, Janice and brothers, Earl, Richard and Robert.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 3, 2017 in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, 219 S. Fulton St. Wauseon, Ohio, 43567. Fellowship luncheon will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110, or Concord Lutheran Home, 2116 Dover Center Rd., Westlake, Ohio 44145.
