Matthew Wayne "Matt" Nofzinger

Matthew Wayne “Matt” Nofzinger, age 53, of Archbold and formerly of Stryker passed away early Friday February 23, 2018 at the Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Care Center following a long battle with cancer. Prior to his illness he had been employed as a Teacher for Sara's Garden in Wauseon and had also been a substitute teacher for the Bryan City Schools.

Mr. Nofzinger was born in Wauseon, Ohio on July 3, 1964 the son of Wayne and Ruthanna (Gerken) Nofzinger. He was a 1982 graduate of Stryker High School and a graduate of Defiance College. On April 13, 1997 he married the former Tina Marie Miller and she survives. He enjoyed camping and boating with his family and refereeing girls softball.

Surviving besides his wife, Tina is son Josh of Archbold and parents Wayne and Ruthanna Nofzinger of Stryker.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am Monday February 26, 2018 at the First Lutheran Church in Stryker with Rev. Tamara Wood officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00am until service time at the church. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Care Center or Sara's Garden in Wauseon. The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
