Virginia L. Goldsmith, age 86, of Wauseon, Ohio went peacefully home to be with Jesus on April 22, 2018 at Fulton Manor in Wauseon. She was born to Alfred and Otillie (Kaiser) Baum in Wauseon, Ohio on November 7, 1931. She married Jim Goldsmith on August 20, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Virginia worked at Fulton Industries, as well as sold real estate. She was an excellent seamstress, accomplished pianist and played at church for many years. A member of Zion United Methodist Church, she was known for her warm smile and love of coffee.
Virginia is survived by her children, Jackie (Terry) Zeigler of Wauseon, Jill (Phil) Roth of Silver Lake, Ohio, Josie (Dave) Crisman of Wauseon, Bonnie (Lonnie Wyse) Krauss, of Archbold, and John Goldsmith of Wauseon; brother Harold (Lila Mae) Baum, and sister-in-law; Bernie (Jim) Shock; also twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Goldsmith, Sr., son, Jim Jr., and son-in-law, Lonnie Krauss; parents; brothers; Vern Baum and Glen Baum; and sisters, Rozella Williams and Mary Ann Poorman.
Private interment will be at Wauseon Union Cemetery. A casual memorial service for Virginia will be Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 11:00 am at Zion United Methodist Church. 4533 County Road 11, Wauseon, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express a memorial in her memory may be given to Zion United Methodist Church, 4533 County Road 11, Wauseon , Ohio 43567.
