Barbara Heer Obituary

Barbara Sue “Barb” Heer, age 86, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 6, 1940 to Audrey Marie Godfrey. Barb married Charles “Chuck” Heer on February 10, 1956 in Angola, Indiana and together they were happily married for 49 years. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2004.

Barb owned Barb’s Pizza Pan in Stryker, Ohio and for many years of her life she volunteered endlessly for various organizations including, Williams County Board of MRDD, Quadco Rehabilitation Center Board and she volunteered at Bryan Hospital. Barb enjoyed traveling and going on cruises, this includes traveling with family and her lady friends.

Barb had a servant’s heart; she gave of herself willingly for many years and was known as the “spiritual rock” by her family.  Her pride and joy was her family; she was dedicated to the care of her son Kevin who preceded her in passing on February 18, 2024.

Over 40 years ago she and her husband, Chuck, joined New Hope Community Church and with her unwavering commitment she remained a pillar of the church community.

Barb is survived by her son, Ronald Heer (CoraAnne Kee) of Lake Seneca, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeremy Heer, Ashley Anne Lung, Erin Holzer Lyne, Tammy Sue Heer, Emma Grace Groves, Avery Spencer, and Tanya Geren; great-grandson, Blaze Heer; great-granddaughter, Ember Heer; siblings, Linda Godfrey Brown, Doris Godfrey Holtz and Kenneth (Julie) Godfrey and brother-in-law, Lowell “Butch” Heer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Godfrey; husband, Chuck Heer; daughter, Kathy M. Heer Douglas; son, Kevin Michael Heer and brothers, Bill Godfrey and Russell Godfrey.

Guests may visit with the family on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Grisier Funeral Home – Stryker, Ohio. The family will also receive guests on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Community Church, Bryan, Ohio. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Pastor David A. Nicholls officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery, rural Stryker, Ohio.

Funeral luncheon and fellowship will follow the interment back at New Hope Community Church in Bryan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Community Church or to Quadco Rehabilitation Center.
