Burton A. Lutz, age 87, of Wauseon, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, as the result of injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. Prior to his retirement, Burt had been an accountant, computer programmer and a software engineer.
Burt was born in Wauseon, Ohio on July 23, 1932, the son of Art and Ida (Clark) Lutz. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of the Korean War. Burt was an avid Cleveland Browns and Detroit Tigers fan. He was also a member of the Wauseon American Legion Post 265 and the Wauseon VFW, Post 7424. Burt loved playing cards and enjoyed reading.
Surviving is one son, Lindsay (Teresa) Lutz of Wauseon; one daughter, Lynda (Steve) Lutz Hensley of McLean, VA; grandchildren, Zachary and Alexandria Lutz, Jake and Lauren Hensley, Allison (Brad) Maher, and Abigail (John) Armstrong. He is also survived by former spouse, Sally Lutz of Wauseon. Burt was preceded in death by his parents and oldest daughter, Laura Lutz Taylor.
A memorial service for Burt will be held on Friday 19 June 2020 at 11am in the VFW Post 7424 (1133 N. Ottokee Street, Wauseon).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to the Wauseon Public Library, as Burt enjoyed spending time there and reading. Donations may be mailed to the Wauseon Public Library (117 E. Elm Street, Wauseon, OH 43567). Please include Burt's name on the memo.
