Donald Raymond Warncke

Donald Raymond Warncke, age 93, of Wauseon, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Fulton Manor Nursing Home. Don was the Director of Environmental Health with the Fulton County Health Department for 34 years.

Don was born on October 19, 1932, in Freedom Township, to the late Paul and Selma (Tietje) Warncke. He graduated from Wauseon High School in 1950. On November 2, 1957, he married Carol (Biddle), and she survives. Don served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Don was an avid golfer, making many friends both here in Wauseon and in Florida while on the course. Photography was also a great hobby of Don's. He and Carol enjoyed traveling, and wintered in Florida for over 25 years. Above all, Don was a man of faith, being a devout and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, serving in the past as a deacon and council president.

Surviving Don is his wife, Carol; daughter, Beth (Joe) Friess of Wauseon; son, Bruce Warncke of Liberty Center; grandchildren, Sean Friess, Kayleigh Fatica, Makenzie Warncke, and Alexandria Warncke; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Lizzie; brother, Verne (Phyllis) Warncke; sister, Joyce (Richard) Darcy; brother, Larry (Neva) Warncke; brother, Roger (Pat) Warncke; and sister-in-law, Judy Warncke. Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin and Lowell Warncke; sister, Karen Warncke; and infant sister, Joan Warncke.

Visitation for Don will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 10am to 1pm, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wauseon. A memorial service will take place at 1pm, at the church, with Pastor Ashley Rosa-Ruggieri officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date, at the Wauseon Union Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Fulton County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wauseon. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
