September 14, 2020 3:07 PMGilbert was a classmate, baseball teammate and friend in Carmel Valley. I spent many weekends at his house or at the ball field. We were always laughing...him at me, me at him. He was effervescent and kind hearted to the core. He kept in touch with many of us. That was just Gil. When we would have the rare occassion to see each other after many years, it was as if we had never been apart. I never saw Gilbert not smiling. Never. Not ever. He will be missed greatly. Shirley and family, my heart goes out to you. We know he is in a better place, but this place was better with him, too. Gilbert was love.

September 12, 2020 8:57 PMI blessed to meet both Gil and his Mom, Shirley earlier this year in Az. Gil was easy going and easy to work with , it was obvious he was raised right. My heart goes out to you Shirley as you deal with the loss of your sweet son, may the Father turn your face towards Him so you can see thru His eyes, suddenly, everything is much clearer. May the Peace of God, that passes all understanding keep your heart and mind thru Christ Jesus. I am happy you are among you family

September 12, 2020 1:38 PMGil was one of the most wonderful young men I have ever had the joy to know. I hired him in 1994 as the Youth Pastor at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Longview, WA. He served in that position for four years until I left to take a position in another state. His joy was palpable and he had an indefatigable spirit that shone forth his faith and love. He was “magical” within the youth of our community and built and strong and wonderful ministry and youth leaders. He was adored by the entire congregation. His wit was quick, his humor was contagious and his laughter was infectious. We are richer to have known and served the Lord with him. And the world is now poorer without him. I loved him as a son. Fly away dear friend. May you Rest In Peace and rise in glory.
