Julia M. Grieser

Julia M. Grieser, age 79, passed away Suinday, August 25, 2024 at Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan, Ohio.

Julia was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on August 26, 1944, the daughter of John R. "Jack" and Thelma (Dull) Koch-Schweitzer. On December 2, 1962 she married Sheldon Grieser, and he survives. She was a babysitter in Stryker for many years. She enjoyed crafts, making ceramics, gardening, flowers, and collecting dolls. She enjoyed fishing and camping and riding in her golf cart. She was also a member of the Stryker American Legion Auxiliary. Julia and Sheldon were foster parents to four young children in the 1970's and 1980's. She was especially fond of a little girl named Betty who she stayed in contact with the rest of her life.

Surviving, besides her husband, Sheldon is one son, Rick (Melinda) Grieser of Montpelier; grandchildren, Melissa (Dusty) Grine, Logan (Emily) Grieser and Austin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Dale, Layne, Tripp and Oaklynn. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Grieser; twin-sister, Judy Whitman; two brothers, Tom and Bill Koch; and sister, Connie Hoffman.

Visitation for Julia will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the United Brethren Church in Stryker, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 P.M., also in the church, with Pastor Nick Woodall, officiating. Interment will be private in the West Franklin Cemetery, near West Unity. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the United Brethren Church.
