Kenneth Culler Obituary

Kenneth L. Culler, age 95, formerly of Stryker, passed away on January 8, 2025, in New Albany, IN. Kenneth was a farmer, teacher, principal, basketball coach and county commissioner.  He loved teaching his family and friends how to make apple cider, apple butter, maple syrup and cultivate honey.   In his later years he enjoyed growing tomatoes and delivering his bounty to all his neighbors earning him the title Tomato King.  His greatest joy was imparting his wisdom and traditions to the future generations to carry on his legacy.

Kenneth was born on September 17, 1929, in Farmer, Ohio, to the late Carmon and Ruth (Lovejoy) Culler. On June 5, 1955, he married the love of his life, Joan (Connin).  He  received a Master's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University,  served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps  during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Stryker Rotary.  In retirement he worked at Sauder  Village driving the work horse team and in the cooper  shop.  He and Joan were active members of the Stryker United Methodist Church.

Surviving Kenneth is his wife, Joan; children, Cheryl (Max) Benton, Pamela (Fred) Speck, Thomas Culler, and Karen Culler; 8 grandchildren and their spouses; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Butler and Sister-in-law Lucille Culler.  He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Etta Horvath and David Culler; brothers-in-law Robert Butler and Frank Horvath; great-grandchildren, Amelia Shepherd and David Shepherd; and several much-loved pre-born great-grandchildren.
