Lawrence LeRoy Soles

Stryker, Ohio:

Lawrence LeRoy Soles, age 79, of Stryker, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at Evergreen Healthcare Center in Montpelier, Ohio. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he had worked for the Aro Corporation in Bryan for 42 years.

Lawrence was born in Henry County, Ohio, on December 24, 1942, the son of Leland and Mary Ellen (Patton) Soles. In 1966 he married Linda Schudel, and she preceded him in death in 1991. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Stryker. Lawrence was a 1961 graduate of Liberty Center High School. He had also served in the Army Reserves in Bryan. Ohio. he was a former member of the Stryker American Legion Post 60, a longtime member of the Bryan American Legion Post 284, a lifetime member of the Williams County Conservation League, and a member of the Bryan F. & A.M. Lodge 215. He was also a member of the 111th O.V.I.

Surviving are two sons, Larry (Teresa) Soles of Stryker, Landon (Maiko) Soles of Japan; grandchildren, Colton Soles, Lynn Soles, Brandon Soles, Lars Soles, Brock and Kaleb Middleton; and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Lila (Carl "Nick") Nichols of Middletown, OH and Sharon Bischoff of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, parents; and step-father, Hans Thrane.

Visitation for Lawrence will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the First Lutheran Church in Stryker. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 P.M., also in the church, with Pastor Chris Staup, officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Stryker. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
