Leona Lucy Loveland

Leona Lucy Loveland, age 88, of Wauseon, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Ayden Healthcare of Wauseon. Prior to her retirement she had worked at Wauseon Manufacturing Company for 21 years, and then at Wendy's for 15 years.

Leona was born in Riga, Michigan on July 16, 1936, the daughter of the late Remi and Clara (Desimpelare) Hoste. On March 3, 1956 she married Harley Robert "Bob" Loveland, and he preceded her in death in 2017. She was a member of St. Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Wauseon Lions Club. She loved to crochet and collected salt and pepper shakers.

Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Joseph Loveland of West Unity and James Loveland of Chesterfield. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and brother Julius Hoste.

Visitation for Leona will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 15, 2024 at St. Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M., with Father Todd Dominique, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Caspar Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Wauseon Lions club. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
