Defiance:
Marilyn Jean Slentz, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024. She was born December 6, 1930 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Roy and Byrde (Miller) Slentz.
Marilyn grew up on a farm in Napoleon and graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1948. She later attended Bowling Green State University receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was an elementary school teacher in Holgate, Bryan and Parma, Ohio before eventually retiring from education. She relocated to Mesa, Arizona and worked as a receptionist in the medical field for many years before returning to northwest Ohio. Marilyn enjoyed music and loved animals.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Byrde (Miller) Slentz, brother Vincent Slentz, sister Joan (Slentz) Beebe and brother-in-law P. Thomas Beebe.
She is survived by her nephew, James (Amy) Beebe; great nieces, Madison (Matthew) Fleck, Samantha (Samuel) Mast, Kayla; great nephew, Alexander Beebe; sister-in-law, Audrey Slentz and cousin, Barbara (John) Turpin.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.
