Mary Martinez

Mary Martinez, age 83, of Stryker, passed away on March 12, 2023 at the Bryan Community Hospital. Mary worked for Dana Industries for many years.

Mary was born on September 2, 1939 in Brownsville, Texas, to the late James and Ofelia (Gonzalez) Strong. On February 13, 1956, Mary married Benito Martinez, who preceded her in death in 1993. Mary loved puzzles and scratch off lottery tickets. Above all else, Mary loved spending time with her family.

Surviving Mary are her children, Grace (Lance) Martinez of Archbold; Dan (Jan) Martinez of Stryker; Ruben (Kim) Martinez of Stryker; Norma (Bryan) Brenner of Jasper, TN; Joe Martinez of Stryker; Melva Martinez of Archbold; Irma Shock of Stryker; Jimmy Martinez of Stryker; and Gilbert Martinez of Stryker. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benito; parents; and son-in-law, Todd Shock.

Visitation for Mary will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker from 12pm to 2pm. A prayer service will take place at 2pm at the funeral home, with Fr. Andrew Wellman officiating. Burial will follow at the Stryker Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
