Susan E. (Heer) Richards

Archbold:

Susan E. (Susie Heer) Richards, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away September 18, 2020 following a short illness. She was born in Wauseon, Ohio, on August 10, 1951 to Ralph and Gretchen (Spoerle) Heer of Archbold.

She was a 1969 graduate of Archbold High School and attended the Florida Institute of Technology, studying marine biology.

On May 24, 1975 Susie married Marc Richards of upper New York and resided a short time in Delaware before moving to Corinth, Kentucky where they resided until Marc's death. She then relocated to Florida.

Susie began training in Original Taekwondo Do in 1990, working her way up to black belt and referee. She enjoyed surfing and being on the beach but her most important thing was her love for animals and rescued many through the years.

Susie is survived her mother, Gretchen Heer of Stryker, Ohio, and her brother-in-law, Steve Richards of Costa Rica. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marc, father, Ralph Heer, and brother, Joe Heer.

Memorials may be made to the family so they can allocate to an animal shelter. Private graveside services at Archbold Cemetery are pending. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.

"My loved one is traveling now, she left unexpectedly, she did not die. I hope her journey is as beautiful as she is in spirit. Even though it hurts and I will miss her so very much, I am so blessed to have wonderful memories of her life here. She will always brighten my days and nights. I will cry sometimes then I will laugh at our happy times together. Memories that will never leave me till I begin my travels.
