Owner / Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Adam Grisier is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Adam graduated from Archbold High School in 2016; he received his Associates of Pre-Mortuary from Northwest State Community College in 2016, and then continued his education at The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, where he graduated top of his class with his Bachelors of Mortuary Science in 2019. While attending CCMS, Adam was able to attend a specialized training session by American psychologist Alan Wolfelt to learn about what brings meaning to funerals. Adam was also recognized as American Funeral Director Magazine’s “Ones to Watch” in 2019.
Adam is involved in several community groups and spends Sunday mornings at St. Peter’s Catholic Church or St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Archbold, where he sings in the choir, and enjoys playing music during worship. In June of 2020, Adam married his wife Courtney, and they reside in Archbold. Courtney is the Archbold High School Choral Director, and Adam assists her with the high school's musical productions and choral events. They welcomed their son, Eric, in 2023, and their daughter, Millie, in 2025. Adam is passionate about helping families through their grief in the most dignified and meaningful ways possible.
Adam is proud, humbled, and excited to represent the sixth generation of Grisier's in the funeral profession.
Past Owner / Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer
The patriarch of our family business, Fred moved back to Stryker upon graduation from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1958. Fred represents the fourth generation of Grisier's in the funeral business, serving his communities for over 60 years. Fred continues to work with the family business almost daily. Fred still resides in Stryker. Together, Fred, and his late wife Helen, served their community with extreme care.
Past Owner / Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Todd is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and resides in Archbold, Ohio. Todd joined the family business in 1981. A member of the Archbold Evangelical Church, he is also a member of the Archbold Fire Department. He serves on Policy Board with the Ohio Funeral Directors Association Mortuary Response Team and also serves as a Federal Mortuary Officer with the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team, NDMS, USHHS, as a member of the Family Assistance Core Team.

Samantha “Sam” Waltermyer, Mum to Madeline, Ohio Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Crematory Operator
Originally from Tiffin, Ohio, she currently resides in Old Orchard in Toledo. Sam is a graduate of Tiffin University, Bachelor of Criminal Justice - Forensic Psychology. During her last two years of college she worked at the funeral home that was “down the street” from her childhood home. From there she decided to attend mortuary school. Sam graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2008 and served her apprenticeship in Tiffin.
In 2009, she moved to Toledo and worked for one of the largest funeral home firms in the area for nearly 11 years, managing one of its locations. Sam joined the team at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in 2020. She currently owns a pet cremation business in Toledo, volunteers for her daughter’s classroom and school functions, attends Community House Church, takes gardening seriously, and enjoys a good spray tan.
Sam looks forward to connecting with, listening to, and helping our families find peace in the world after they’ve experienced a loss.
